NSSF Says "Thanks, But No Thanks" to Fund For Animals

Recently, Fund for Animals National Director Heidi Prescott wrote to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) requesting its policy on “canned hunts” and inviting NSSF to partner with the anti-hunting group to end or severely restrict such hunts. In a prompt and pointed response, Bob Delfay NSSF president and CEO told Ms. Prescott, “The National Shooting Sports Foundation has no interest in working with The Fund for Animals in
this or in any other effort. As we have reviewed your printed materials and statements over the years, it is quite clear that your organization lacks the credibility and professionalism of those groups with which we typically partner.” In addition, Delfay commented that “While NSSF has no formal position on what The Fund refers to as “canned hunts,” NSSF does support those traditional shooting preserve operations that have provided safe, ethical and environmentally responsible hunting for many Americans for many decades.”
