Project Homesafesm Rolls Through Georgia

The National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) Project HomeSafe, a nationwide firearms safety program, continues its tour across the country with a Georgia kickoff last week. Lt. Governor Mark Taylor and top officials from the Georgia law enforcement community launched the 14-day tour from the steps of the State Capitol. As one of the state’s leading sportsmen, Lt. Governor Taylor and the Georgia Sheriffs Association will help distribute 60,000 Project HomeSafe gun locks throughout the state. "As a life-long outdoorsman, I have actively promoted the responsible use of firearms and initiatives that promote and support firearm safety," said Lt. Governor Taylor. "That’s why I’m proud to be partnering with the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Georgia Sheriffs Association as we roll out Project HomeSafe here in Georgia." When the 17-city Georgia tour concludes later in the month more than 80 cities nationwide will have been visited by the 16-foot mobile classroom that provides firearms safety at the community level. Georgia is the [12th] state to have launched Project HomeSafe since Oklahoma kicked off the first statewide program launch this past September.
