Summary:We have a 48-month old yellow Labrador who is generally obedient but there are those few instances that he just won’t listen. Sometimes, he walks away even if we call out to him (we use the commands “come” and “here”). Most of the time, these commands work but there those times when he would just stare back at us and would continue to walk away. This usually happens when he has found a treat (such as food or a toy) which he has tucked safely away in the woods. Before using the SD-400, we watch the videos first. We also made sure that our dog will think that wearing the collar is fun by throwing him a ball or something for him to fetch. I have observed a lot of changes in him since using the collar. I decided to use the tone only setting but I had to use the stimulus correction only once when my dog didn’t move back when I used the tone. Currently, our dog has totally learned to walk back to us whenever he hears the tone and our command. My experience with the SportDOG SD-400 collar has been incredible!

Summary:This is one amazing product! Great value for the money I spent. It is also very user friendly even for first time users. The training period was only for a short while. My dog quickly learned and we rarely had to give him the stimulus - maybe only during the first few stages of the training. Currently, I only use the beeping mode and my dog responds to it very well. The SD-400 is indeed an excellent find and I would strongly recommend it to all dog owners. Using it is very hassle-free to the dog and the dog owner. I am very grateful for a brilliant product.

Summary:Let me tell you the reason why I really love this product: my 65-pound dog has completely responded to it and I’m only using the 2nd level. I previously used a prong collar and it wasn’t effective. My dog was still very hard-headed. But with the SD-400, the results were amazing. I like that you can fiddle with the buttons on the remote according to what level is appropriate for your dog. You can also operate the collar on tone only mode. The unit is waterproof. I’m not so sure though about its effective range since I’ve been only using it below 100 yards. The unit uses rechargeable batteries. Based on experience, I was able to use the collar for 2 days without recharging. Recharging has to be overnight. This is really no big deal for me since I save on having to buy batteries. Important: Before even using this product, I suggest that you find more training materials on top of what the manufacturer provides with the product. It is important that you properly train your dog so that you don’t end up wrecking your relationship with your dog. Take note that you have to charge the unit for a whole day when using it for the first time.

Summary:The SD-400 is the product I’ve been looking for. We have a dog who hasn’t responded well with our voice commands and this product answered all our problems. Our dog Sassy is a 4 year old Newfoundland and we just recently adopted her. We are really happy having her around but it has been quite challenging especially that we are residing in the forest. We are surrounded by a lot of wildlife (Elk, Game, Squirrels, other dogs, etc.) which usually diverts our dog’s attention. Sassy also gets easily distracted by our neighbors passing by our house. When we put her on the leash, we have no problem. But once we lose the leash and she has her eyes on anything then there’s no stopping her. Everything changed when we used the SD-400 on her. She was very attentive and she was able to remember the commands all the time. During the training, I only nicked her around 10 times and after that, I only have to use the tone only mode and she would immediately obey may command. If you have a large dog such as Sassy (she’s 150 pounds), I would strongly recommend this product. I am very grateful to SportDOG for creating such an amazing product.

Summary:I have vast experience when it comes to training dogs and in I strongly recommend the SD-400. The collar has given me excellent results regardless of what conditions (weather and terrain) we are in. The reception on the collar is impeccable even at very far distances. I base my work on the concept that dogs would always want to satisfy or gratify their owners. Most often than not, they will do as they are told. There is just the matter of correctly conveying this to your dog and teaching your dog his limits. The collar will help you solve his issue. For many years, I have continuously used the SD-400 and I am telling you, you will be surprised to know that the frequency of actually correcting your dog using the stimulus is less than most people would expect. The moment your dog has been trained, your voice commands are enough. You don’t even have to use the beep mode of the collar. Some people may find this hard to believe but I am able to walk my hug weimaraners (without leash) in a field with a lot of squirrels. After a few training sessions with the collar, I completely trust them and they totally obey me. If you have a stubborn dog, this collar will change him/her. Buy this collar and you will not regret it. I am sure you will love it.
