Description:

Jetta is a great family dog and is on track to be an excellent hunting companion. She has 2 upland seasons under her belt and is ready for finishing work this coming year. She turns 3 on 12/31/2023. She has a strong upland hunting pedigree (3 Open Pheasant Champions, sire was a 4x Grand Master Pointing Retriever, grand-sire is in the APLA hall of fame). She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

She is house-trained and crate-trained, has been around young children since birth, and has a strong desire to please her owners. She is excellent with basic obedience commands (recall, sit, heel, no), is collar-conditioned, and gets along great with other dogs. She works closely in the field and has a strong natural point when she gets on birds. She has a strong retrieving focus and drive and though she hasn't had formal training in blind retrieves, she will search for and retrieve bumpers she didn't see.

Where she needs finishing work:

- Finishing retrieves: she won't deliver to hand but will drop them at your feet
Blind retrieves
- Searching patterns: she will work back and forth but not in a consistent pattern. She also has a tendency to work too close, although some hunters might prefer this.
- Flushing in tight cover: she won't dive into thick brush/cover yet like more mature dogs. This is more of a matter of getting more reps with birds.
- Place: if you want to hunt waterfowl with her, she knows the "place" command but is not good at staying once she's there.

As she enters her 3rd year, she is in great shape to finish training and be a fantastic hunting companion and family dog for years to come.
