Blue is well, a blue roan English Cocker. He has one full season of hunting last year and did very well as a youngster. He is a real water dog and has had no fear of water even as a 8 week old pup. Also was my solo dog on a prairie chicken hunt in Nebraska last year in which he also picked up quail and doves. But has mostly hunted pheasant and ducks here in NW Iowa. He does very well on not giving up on retrieves, even on lightly hit ducks that have dove he has gotten. Absolutely loves retrieving and is equally excited to retrieve dummies as he is birds. He is great with kids and has hunted with various other breeds of dogs with no issues at all. He is kennelled outside but comes in frequently in the winter time when the temp drops too low. Does very well in the crate and doesn't whine or bark even when your walking up to the kennel to release him. But does flash a doggie smile from time to time when you greet him. Definately not the nervous type of dog that barks for no reason. Another one of his strong points is watching him hunt, he's not the kind of guy to potter around and is athletic in his gait. Probably not trial quality fast but definately no slouch either. His marking skills on downed birds are not top notch yet but that should come with age and experience. He should continue to be a great gundog and hunting buddy to an approved home.
