Sam is a VERY, VERY rare animal. He is a littermate brother of 2x Ch/2x RU Ch Elite Poker Face. Check out his full pedigree on our website. Here is the story on him.

Poker, Jack and Sam were all sent to Sheldon Tweer a couple of years ago to be trained for horseback shooting dog trials. Poker was the biggest runner at the time and Sheldon put 2 championships and 2 Runner Up's on him in one season.

Jack was the 2nd biggest runner at the time and was bought by Pinehill Kennels to be a stud dog.

Sam was almost as big a runner as Jack, however, he has better style than Jack. I wasn't there to see how big Sam ran at the time, however, I know how big it is now. He set out there at 100 - 300 yards all day with me yesterday hunting Huns, Quail and Chukar in the sage brush mountains of NW Nevada and I had to hold him in to keep him at that range. That's some pretty big range considering how tough these mountains are.

Sam has been on the Elite Pointers wild bird string for the last couple of years that hunts Hungarian Partridge, California Quail, Gamble's Quail, Mearns Quail, Bobwhite Quail, Blue Grouse, Ruffed Grouse, Sage Grouse, Prairie Chickens and Pheasants. This dog is not used on pheasants much unless there just happens to be a pheasant where we are hunting species that require bigger running dogs.

He has also sired several litters of absolutely beautiful pups. He is about a 55 lb male. He is broad chested and square headed and so are his pups. He is very graceful and floats along as he covers the country side.

Sam, Jack, Poker and their brother Dan (who is also now available) are in a class of dogs that most people have never seen. Sam is a straight up bird finder. For the foot hunter like myself, he's a covey dog. Run a couple shorter working dogs behind him to pick up the singles and let him roll to find the coveys. He's a good singles dog too though. He pointed several young quail for me today in the sage brush which takes a heck of a nose because those young birds don't put off near as much scent.

Sam is the type of and quality of dog to build a breeding program around. He is every bit as nice a dog as his brother Jack that is being bred at Pinehill Kennels and he has better style and much more wild bird experience.

If Sam fits the type of dog that you are looking for, this is a very rare opportunity to get one of the finer dogs in the country.
