Description:

One Yellow Male available - Born 9/20/2015.

This pup is noticeably intelligent with a good degree of independence. I would like to find him a hunting home that also is involved in hunt tests or active in other dog sports.

All pups will have dew claws removed, vet exam, microchipped, dewormed, first puppy shots and a health guarantee (3 days to check w/ your vet). Please send an email to neuenseresh@outlook.com or call me at 920-564-2559 if you are interested (note: my cell phone signal can be wimpy at times, so email is ideal). I will work up shipping details for the right buyer. I’m looking to find a hunting home that is active with training as I would like this little guy to be able to use his abilities. Price is $1,400.

Sire: FC AFC Jet Black Bustin Thru The Brush MH. Dam: JH Kate’s Pride Ms Cleo.

Jet has an OFA (hips) of Good, is CNM and EIC clear. He has a CERF number and was rechecked in November 2010. Jet is yellow factored.

Jet comes from 2xNAFC FC Candlewoods Ramblin Man, Hall of Fame and HRCH Berry Ridge Black Gold Fever. Paternal Gramps is FC AFC Wilderness Harley To Go, Hall of Fame. Maternal Gramps is FC AFC Black Gold’s Kates Rascal.

Cleo comes from FC AFC Candlewood Lotta Black Pepper MH, 1996 Southeastern WI Pheasant Champion & Smokey’s Sunrise. Paternal Gramps is FC AFC Black Gold’s Kates Rascal & Grandma is FC AFC CFC CAFC Candlewood’s MS MB Kate. One of the Great-Grannies is none other than 3xNFC FC AFC Candlewood’s Tanks A Lot, Hall of Fame (Lottie). Cleo’s maternal side are mainly good hunting dogs, not involved in tests or trials until you get to Great Grandpa FC AFC Kelly’s Obvious Conclusion.

Cleo has an OFA (hips) of Good, is CNM and EIC clear. Her CERF was good. Cleo is yellow factored.

Jet is owned by Jim and Judy Powers but was originally owned by Ben Hughes and initially they were involved in Hunting Retriever tests. Jet accomplished a Senior Hunt title at 14 months old and a Master Hunt title at 26 months old. Switching to the field trial scene, Ben and Jet received a second in an Amateur and a JAM in an open in a licensed field trial when Jet was four. He went on to get his FC and AFC. Jet’s personality is a playful companion, calm and gentle when not in the field. In competition he is an excellent marker, intense, and very willing to work with you on the line. In addition, Jet’s favorite hobby is hunting…. pheasants, ducks, geese…. he doesn’t care!

Cleo is a wonderful, loving family dog and very competitive in the field, she is a good marker and has exceptional strength, drive, intelligence and endurance. For her drive and talent a JH isn’t much of an achievement, but it was for me. I originally worked on agility with her and she was outstanding at that but I wasn’t fast enough to keep up. I started working with her in the field when she was 2 & ½ yrs. old and with the help of a couple of great guys from my kennel club I came to understand the field lab and Cleo. She had inherited the field trial talent and with their help I was able to get a handle on a very powerful dog. We were in an odd place where she could do these long land marks but she didn’t have the basic training early enough for me to fit into that sort of field group. I focused on hunt tests and did get the JH but drifted away because of other commitments and the absence of a local field group. I am now getting back into it. She is a very talented and exceptionally healthy dog, I believe she brings a great deal to the table.

I chose to breed with Jet because he is known to be a methodical thinker and he has excellent drive. He was easy to handle and train and a perfect dog to temper the “balls to the walls” field competition personality of Cleo.

As you can see this is a line breeding with AFC Black Gold’s Kates Rascal a talented yellow male who’s sire was another talented yellow male, FC AFC Lakeridge’s Charlemagne, Hall of Fame.

Rascal was an extremely talented hunting dog owned by Ben Stoval, I have read stories about Ben sending him on a blind during trials, turning his back to chat with the judges and expecting (correctly) Rascal to run straight and pick up the bird.

There are several other more distant line breeding examples with the 2nd being NFC NAFC Candlewoods Super Tanker, Hall of Fame. On both sides you can see such greats as NFC FC AFC San Joaquin Honcho, H.O.F. , NFC 2xNAFC Super Chief and his sire H.O.F. FC AFC Paha-Sapa Chief II. Their ancestors have been so consistently successful that you can follow many of their online records to the first Labrador kennels in England and to “dog imported from Newfoundland”. I like history so I thought it was pretty interesting.

This is the first litter that I have raised, I used “Early Neurological Stimulation” with them, this is a program that is used by the U.S. Military Canine Unit to prepare dogs to deal with stress and become high achievers when they are older. It is not abusive in any way.

The pup available is already potty trained for bm & semi-trained for #1.
Introduced to using a crate, loud sounds and blanks. He has been very well socialized, walks on a lead, has done some beginner retrieves, he has been exposed to feathers and a pidgin and rates as very birdy. He has great drive. He has also been exposed to various surfaces, brush and things that move unexpectedly.

He is clearly intelligent with a solid degree of independence. I would like to find him a hunting home that also is involved in hunt tests or active in other dog sports.

As of now what I see is an unusually calm and relaxed pup when being handled by people. He is however, quite rambunctious with siblings, one could say “a bit bossy” with his sister in particular. If you want the combination of a mellow temperament with higher drive, this dog may be right for you.
