Sire: Chieftain of Charlemagne JH

Chief is a strong, eager, 6-year-old, 78 pound, chocolate-factored yellow male with strong UK bloodlines. His sire was Nimloth’s Charlemagne (Charlie), an outstanding Chocolate field dog with an extraordinary nose that pointed upland game and loved the marshes. Charlie was sired by Exhibition Man de Saint Urbain, an International Show Champion with a French Trial qualification. Chief’s imported Dam was Killerisk Queen of Countryways (Sheba), an enthusiastic yellow bitch sired by the 1995 Irish Field Trial Champion Int. FTCh Theoweir Turramurra Teal.

Chief combines the very best of both Charlie and Sheba. He’s big, strong and handsome with good Labrador confirmation. He has an exceptional nose and routinely points upland game. He’s an unfailing retriever that never gives up. He once came back with a pair of pintails in his mouth earning him the nickname of “Chief Two Ducks”. He’s also an extraordinarily gentle dog, very calm around the house and with children. His calm, happy English temperament makes him a joy to have as a companion.


Dam: Lexander Honey JH

Kate is a keen, muscular, 3-year-old, 65 pound, yellow imported bitch from solid English trial and working lines. Kate’s Sire is Bellever Simon an English FTW. Her dam is Lexander Hope, a dog that works for the Gamekeeper of the Sydenham Shoot in Devon, England. Hope retrieves literally hundreds of pheasant each season on an Estate where shot game is a cash crop; she excels at her job and has passed her talents on to Kate.

I personally went to England to observe Lexander Hope at work and to bring Kate to the US. I was very pleased with Kate’s dam and my faith has been well rewarded. Kate is a beautiful, strong dog with a fantastic nose, great hunting and retrieving ability and a superb English temperament. On the job she’s quiet and businesslike with an unerring nose and unfailing determination. She is very intelligent, easily trained and ever so mannerly. Like Chief, she is extremely gentle around children and a joy to have as a home companion.

Chief and Kate sailed through their Junior Hunter tests in 2004 and I had every intention of continuing their ratings. However, I had a bout with kidney cancer in late 2004 and the training schedule was significantly disrupted. We intend to resume in 2006 after the litter.

Both Chief and Kate have OFA (hips) ratings of Good and tested CERF (eye) as Clear.

We fully expect these pups to be outstanding field and home companions.

Pups will come with hip & eye guarantee. Pups will have first shots, be microchipped and well socialized in a family setting. Delivery can be arranged, pups will be in the Kansas City area.
