BACKGROUND INFO ON THE BREEDING IN GENERAL:

This is a great pairing of two dogs that brings together some of the very best bloodlines in the country for strong point and proven intelligence and train-ability of high performing real hunting / competition hunting / hunt test and field trial dogs!!!

Bear lives to hunt upland birds! That is his specialty and he excels at it! Bear lives in Colorado but gets to hunt North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado every year! He had been on over 100 pheasant hunts in the last few years! Many that have had the privilege of hunting with him say he is the best pheasant dog they have ever seen! Bear will hunt hard til the last bird is in the vest! He never, ever quits! We have often thought that he would hunt until his hearts stopped beating if we let him!! Bear also gets to hunt waterfowl all season long too! He loves to retrieve ducks and geese! One more than one occasion he has used his long, lean powerful body to bust ice to retrieve birds!

Bear has been 100% amateur trained and was (at the time) one of just 16 dogs in history to achieve the master title in 3 different dog testing organizations (APLA, AKC AND UKC). He may be the only dog to achieve that with no pro training at all.

Bear is the epitome of a dog with "The Switch"... he is as mellow as they come at home, but transforms into a hunting beast afield with absolute energy and drive to find, point and retrieve birds with incredible enthusiasm.

Kenai is a also a great hunting dog!! She is driven to find and point birds and loves to retrieve!! She is very trainable and really focuses on her trainer while learning, which is an indicator of her strong desire to please. She is very athletic, has a great nose and tons of heart. She never gives up while searching for a bird! She is very enthusiastic and has a great attitude in her work (charges into the water on retrieves), while still knowing how to turn it off at home. She is also a fantastic mother and is really taking great care of these pups!

Kenai is the daughter of GMPR HRCH Black Ice's Super Sonic Scooter MH QAA who is one of the best performing pointing labs in the country. Scooter achieved all of those titles at the very early age of just over 2 years old (earlier than any dog in history), so the train-ability and intelligence of Kenai's bloodline is clearly evident. Scooter's mom Is GMPR HRCH Reno's Black Ice MH QAA a very well known and superb pointing lab, that just also happens to be a 2-time National Champion in competition hunting!!
