The sire of this litter is that last direct son of CH Hunter's Billy Ray that I am aware of. Bill (the sire of this litter) has produced dozens of NSTRA/foot hunting setters. The key to any sire is his ability to reproduce greatness in his offspring and Bill has been doing it for years.

Bill "drew the short straw" in life. He was owned by a guy that never did anything with him for years. He was then purchased by a NSTRA handler/trainer that we use at the age of 8. In one year, at 8 years old Bryan put 10 points on him in limited trialing. If a person stops and thinks about how truly impressive that is it's almost hard to believe. What could Bill be if actually worked his whole life? The reason he is so good is his dad, CH Hunter's Billy Ray. That dog produced some phenomenal bird dogs. Bill is well known for carrying on that tradition.

According to Bryan, out of all the pups he has had out of Bill over the last 5 years the very best were out of a female named Dot. I have been extremely fortunate in that I was able to purchase her because his financial situation (like many in the dog business now) necessitated some quick money and kennel space for client dogs so I jumped on the opportunity. She is a daughter of CH Pennstar by a daughter of CH First Rate. For foot hunters this is a very special repeat breeding that produced fantastic dogs.
