Gracie is by far, the best female dog I have ever had, her whole goal in life seems to be to please me, when in the field hunting, she makes sure that she goes wherever I want her, though sometimes she has to tell me I am heading in the wrong direction. her nose is unbelievable, around the house she is the most loving pet, we have a ten month old baby our self, she don't go anywhere near the baby, but makes sure she can see her from not far away.
Briar is still young and, I must admit, I bought him solely for a good litter of pups and so my son has as good of a hunting partner and companion as I do, the thing is, man is he an awesome dog, he like Gracie, wants to please, when you talk to him and Gracie they both look directly into your eyes, and respond with excitement. both feel they are very much a part of the family, If
your into hunting, I have seen both flush rabbits and birds, briar has buried himself completely under grass and kicked a rabbit out the other side, they have come home with thorns from going into the thickest of covers to get the game up for me.
We have baby sat for kids for years, and my youngest is the 22nd grandchild for my mom, of course lots of these kids have been older and grown before we had the dogs but you get the picture, there is always kids and people around, they are so well around the household and yard, when I leave for work in the morning, they both stand at the back door to say good-bye, and just try to come home with out saying hello, they always have something to give you when you get home, Briar (actually wish he would break this habit) is one of your shoes or socks, Gracie is more inclined to bring a bone, but either way you take the gift and they both seem to be just so happy to be able to give you something.
