Born April 24, 2018. Yellow Male, intact. Currently pushing 80lbs.Sire Golden Tessa’s Rio MH X Dam Nebo’s Phoenix Ember. Sire “Rio” Golden Tessa’s Rio is an APLA 4x Grand Master Pointer Retriever and AKC Master Hunter. Rio scored the highest attainable APLA title, the first and only to do so in the state of UTAH and the 2018 Field Dog Life Red Fox Lab of the year. “Rio” was breed and owned by Mark Tate. Dam “Ember” Nebo’s Phoenix Ember is proven in the field, she is a strong 70 lbs. She has hunted upland and waterfowl and owner says she has an incredible marking ability like her sire. Embers sire is Sauk River Phoenix, Advanced Pointing Retriever Titled, owners says he is a strong pointer, athletic and soft mouthed. Ember has full siblings that are also titled and comes from Sauk River Retrievers.
Ember is EIC Clear; OFA Hips Excellent; OFA Elbows Normal. Rio is EIC Carrier; OFA Hips Good; and OFA Elbows Normal.
I originally purchased this pup to bring some strong hunting lines into my working labs, and to use him as a working detection K9. Recently had a change is career and am no longer breeding or raising woking dogs. Pup has not been started on any scents or odors, other than a retrieving bumper or Kong. He would be ready to start on scent today. Pup has a strong hunt behavior, keeps a low head and follows up his hunt very nicely, often beating out my seasoned explosive detection K9 on the Kong. I am amazed more and more by his natural talent and ability as the days pass. He has a strong, natural retrieve and naturally soft mouthed. He is a hardy pup that doesnt mind the water or thick trees and brush. Started on a collar, but will need some finishing. He is still very much a pup and has some growing and maturing to do, but has been a delight to have around and gets better by the day. He will do well in any direction he is taken. AKC registration is limited. Located in Utah
