Ray has been hunted primarily on ducks and geese in the Eastern United States. He has also been on pheasants as well and has a great nose. He naturally quarters in the field and has a great drive. There aren’t many birds that escape his nose!

Ray is a great dog, good with kids and other dogs. Medium dog (can take correction no problem), hunts upland close and quarters naturally. He is very smart.



TRAINING:

Ray knows Heel, Sit, Come, Steady at the Line, Natural Retriever to Hand,

Collar Conditioned, Crate Trained, and was House Broke but has been in the kennels for past few months. He has great marking and does multiple retrieves in hunting situations.

Ray takes back cast and has very nice lines. He has been hunted from shoreline ground blinds and Mutt Huts. He’s hunted from a boat but not much. He’s also been hunted in cut pea fields, marshes and cut corn fields.

He loves to retrieve, has been hunted on Various Species of Geese and Ducks. Upland Hunting consists of Quail, Pheasants and Chukars.

Ray is ready to go for the upcoming Fall Seasons for either Upland or Waterfowl.


BREEDING:

Ray has produced a few litters in his life and all pups have done extraordinary. Some pups are being used as guide dogs in the Eastern US, others AKC Hunt Test, and others just great companion hunting dogs. They have super temperaments and make amazing hunters. Their drive is typical of Moon River’s Offspring.

He is currently bred to one of our stand out females with puppies due middle of April, so he is still producing litters and is fertile.

His average puppy sale for males/females is $850. The investment in him for breeding alone is worth a great deal with his potential return. He is an easy breeder, non-aggressive but gets the job done every time, quick to tie up with a female, and ties last around 25-30 minutes per time on average.
