Rex is a 6 year old fully exposed and finished 65lb intact male German Wirehaired Pointer. He stands tall at 25inches at the shoulder. He is fully registered with AKC and will come with full breeding rights. He has been hunted on wild birds and was a tournament dog all his life. Rex is a family dog that will find you the toughest and smartest wild birds since that was what he was trained to do. His speed and cooperation also makes him a fantastic and fun tournament dog.

What makes him a rare, intact male, is that he is a true omega. He has never bit or got into a rumble with any dog in his life. He comes into a pack with his head lower and assimilate into the pack instantly. His prey drive and energy, however, is truly of a powerful alpha male.

He is very obedient with his basic commands (sit, stay, down, heel, come, up, kennel). Rex is crate trained, loads to truck, collar conditioned, house trained, whoa broke, steady to shot, naturally backs, honors other dogs and retrieves to hand. He has not been force fetch because there has never been a need for it. He has never shown any interest in possessing game but only retrieving it to please me. He is very willing to give all he has for a retrieve and has never lost a bird ever.

Rex loves the water and will retrieve any down ducks. He is a powerful swimmer and will swim out as far as necessary for a retrieve. His tracking skills are exceptional. His nose and pointing ability is what makes him stand out from other dogs. His point is staunch and his stalking ability will bring you really close to the smartest roosters. He is what I would consider a medium ranging dog and will work closer depending on the height of the grass.

During early pheasant season when the roosters are dumb and stay in place, Rex will point them all day. In the late season when the birds become more aware of the hunting game, they run instead of flying, Rex will run and point, run and point. He will stay close enough to the roosters to know where they are but will wait for you to come in shooting range. He will not flush until given the "hunt em" command.

Rex is up to date on all his shots, tested negative for heart worm, and completely ready for the hunting season.

He has been on all types of terrain in Minnesota and will find you the toughest birds, guarantee! Call for you next bragging family/hunting companion.
