This Male’s D.O.B. is 4/17/2002. He is 8 yrs. old.

“Sammy” is a Finished Llewellin Setter, around 55 lbs.
Tri-Colored with Medium Coat.

Sammy has his DNA on file with Field Dog Stud Book AND
HIPS are OFA GOOD.
He became an NLGDC Champion in 2007.

Sammy has strong Bondhu bloodlines; both parents were active and ran in Field Trials all over the Midwest and South over 20 years ago. Both Sire and Dam placed many times, with the Dam placing top 3 periodically with Hall of Fame

SAMMY’S HUNTING EXPERIENCE
We have had the opportunity to hunt behind this dog for over 3 years, guide with him full time 5 months a year and he has never ceased to impress us or our customers.
He is an Upland Master! Sammy has hunted Pheasant, 3 Species of Quail, Huns, Grouse, Woodcock, and Chukars. This dog has no quit and is Steady as a Rock. This dog has quite frankly “saved” some of our hunts where birds were scarce. He always found them and pinned them so hunters could get there shots. He’s crossed over creeks and spun to point a bird that was nestled under a bank while standing in running water! He’s pointed a pheasant that was shot and winged into a cow pasture, cleared a 4ft barbwire fence and weaved in and out of the cows to make this retrieve. It was amazing and was also videoed on Outdoor Iowa. Pretty awesome.

SAMMY’S TRAINING
Sammy knows Here, Whoa Broke, Whistle Broke, Gun Broke, Loads up and rides in crate, dog box, pickup bed, or dog trailer with no issues. Crate Trained, Non-Aggressive towards other dogs or people, Natural Retriever to the hand every time, Soft Mouth, Natural Honor on site.

He is a Suburb Tracker and rarely misses or loses shot birds. On Covey’s of Quail, the dog will hold point even as birds are flying away and being shot, he will not leave the covey until they are all gone. He has an Excellent Nose. As he’s quartering in the field, he takes simple right and left hands signals and hunts dead. He is Whistle Broke and can be pulled off a missed bird with the “no bird” command. Has hunted in over 10 states.

BREEDING
Sammy was bred last Summer June 2010 to our female “Hope” and produced a litter of 8 pups. These pups went all over the Midwest and as Far South as Georgia. They were amazing, great noses right from the start, bold and birdy. One professional Llewellin Breeder said the male he purchased was the …”finest Llewellin he’d ever seen.”
