Description:

DesertRose Kennel is proud to announce the arrival of a long awaited litter on 4/12/2009. This litter was sired by the current #1 ranked GSPCA Amateur Gundog in the U.S, FC/AFC Reo Pawnee. He is also the current National Amateur Champion having won the October 2008 NAC in Eureka at just barely four years of age. “Rusty” is an amazing up and coming young dog that we have been watching in broke dog stakes since the age of two. We really like this dog!

The dam is every bit as impressive, our FC/AFC Holzer’s Desert Willow MH. Willow was ranked in the top 10 amateur gundogs in the U.S. for both 2006 and 2007. Consider that in 2007, she ran two amateur events! One was the NAGDC in Sonoita, AZ in March where she placed third. She then ran in the NAC in Eureka, KS in October and took second place on her first appearance in Eureka. Then in 2008, she ran one event and finished in the top 15. That was her second appearance in Eureka, and this time she took fourth at the NAC. Willow has run in three national championships and placed all three times, beating out 50-80+ dogs each time.

Both sire and dam were amateur trained and handled by their owners, an impressive feat. Their run and style is very similar, a large gundog to shooting dog run. Very independent, bold and stylish. These two are bird finding machines! They are also both very quiet handling, biddable dogs. At a mere 3 weeks of age, the pups are already proving to be little carbon copies of their parents. We are very impressed!

We will have a couple of pups to place from this litter and are looking for quality homes for them. Preference will be given to competitive homes, but we will also consider guide dogs or hard core hunters. It is very important to us to find homes that value these animals as family members. They deserve to be with their humans and get time on the bed!

See our website for OFA certifications, pedigrees, photos, etc. There are two links on the home page – one for litter info, and one for photos. A health guarantee is of course provided. We invite you to contact us if you are interested. You can interview us and we will do the same.

Best regards,
Blair and Jean Holzer
