Abbey had her litter on June 12, 2005; she had 7 females and 3 males. I have several females and one male left as of July 6, 2005. Abbey was bred with Cody vom Apfelbaumbach Cody is a German import that passed the NAVHDA NA test at 4 months (96 points, III), again at 8 months (112 points, I), and passed the German VJP test with 74 points (a very good score). We encourage NAVHDA testing, but don't require it. Cody’s hips have been certified using PennHIP (0.33, 0.33). Abbey passed the NAVHDA NA test with 94 points, Prize III. She has been hip certified with PennHIP (0.33, 0.38) and was CERFed clear last year. Abbey is hunted on wild pheasants, quail, and waterfowl in Iowa and South Dakota. She has a tendency for natural backing and has very strong pointing instinct. She is our primary duck dog, both out of a boat blind and off land and is one of our surest retrievers. She has retrieved to hand since she was a puppy. She is a close ranging dog that is very people oriented and is calm around the house.
