Mentally stable and physically sound companions for the field and competition.

Riley is the result of our 2008 pairing of Sternjagers Safe Return and VC Sharpshooters Let ‘er Rip.  That combination proved so successful that the litter won a NAVHDA Breeder Award.   While Riley will work as hard in the water as in the field, it is in the field that she truly shines.  Her search is athletic and very purposeful, and to see her work a field leaves little doubt of the presence of game.  Riley handles her birds with intensity.  She consistently demonstrates a strong use of nose in finding game and in tracking both drags and fresh downed wild game.  Riley has no hesitance of any retrieve, fur or feather, land or water.

Phantom represents the old Shooting Starr’s side of our line, and was breed on the German “Mother-line” breeding philosophy to perpetuate the best genetics in future generations. His mother Shooting Starr’s Rowdy Rebel was the most cooperative dog I have training and handled. Rebel was an easy keeper and really quite dog in the house that simply loved to please you, but she had a great “switch” and could really fire it up to put on a show in field or marsh. Phantom’s sire was VC Shooting Starr’s Heir Jordan MH, who is among the most prolific sires in NAVHDA history. Here are Jordan’s stats:

It is expected that pups from the pairing of Phantom and Riley will develop readily into athletic hunter-companions that will produce game for the gun at a medium range. This breeding will blend pedigrees from the best American and German import stock, loaded with Champion titles from the field and show. The high concentration of Shooting Starr’s bloodlines in this breeding indicates the tendency for pups of high intelligence, loyalty, and cooperation that this line is renown for.
