We are excited about this litter off MH/CH Champ and Cooper. Cooper’s first litter has some great pups running HT and guide dogs so we expect this litter to have a lot of potential. This cross Dex lines to Irish’s lines will make soild FT, HT or Bench prospects. Cooper is a borderline Master dog and a solid Senior level dog with her nose tending to get her in trouble on water blinds. The timing of previous attempts to breed her this past spring kept us from putting SH on her. She has hunted big water on Matagorda Bay, TX, points pheasants in ND, and rough seas of Pamlico sound. She is very easy to hunt with and a joy to have in the blind and at home in the living room. Champ is a terrific all around Chessie with the “off switch” we strive to find in stud dogs. His owner, Bob Louie says this about him, “Chaamp is the best Chessie that I have owned in 35 years of chesapeakes. He has an excellent temperament and working attitude. Calm at home and a firebreather in the field”. Our impression of Champ was that he was just a big teddy bear around people but seemed to be all business once he sees a bumper.
