Description:

Sire Side: "Karl" (DC/AFC Odyssey's Perfection, MH) is a Dual Champion, as was his father (DC/AFC Odyssey's Sam Saint Max). His mother was a Show Champion (CH Odyssey's Incredible Journey, MH) and also a Master Hunter. All four of Karl's grandparents were Dual Champions, with two also holding Master Hunter titles and two holding Senior Hunter titles. DC Hillhaven's Hustler is also in his ancestry as are some of the most impressive Shorthairs of the 20th century. At the time that Karl earned his Dual Championship, he was the youngest ever German Shorthaired Pointer Dual Champion. Karl was trained at the prestigious Perfection Gun Dog Training Kennels of Jon and Cindy Hann.

Dam Side: Chestnut Vale's Reine Diamante ("Diamond") reflects superb conformation to the breed standard, is intense and biddable in the field (pheasants, quail, grouse, etc.), and has a fine disposition. She was sired by CH Tuckoma Prairie Drk N Dapper, JH ("Dexter") and within Dexter's ancestry are numerous of the breed's finest Shorthairs (many of them holding the Kurzhaar Sieger title from Germany and many of them holding field and show titles from the AKC). Diamond's dam was GV Shameless Heidi, whose sire was the famed National Field Champion LB's Ohi Shameless. Detailed information about the ancestry of Diamond is contained on our web site (in fact, I have carefully traced portions of Diamond's ancestry all the way back to the late 1800s in Germany).

I will be keeping two or three of the pups from this breeding, but I am confident that it will be a rather large litter, so we should have several pups available. My calculations are that the pups should be born on or around Christmas Day. Photos will be placed on our web site (address below) starting at around week one.

The most important thing to Chestnut Vale Kennels is the best possible placement for these pups. The breeding is first rate, with the five generation pedigree of both the sire and the dam replete with a high number of field and show champions. Nevertheless, we price our litters at a rather low rate...because we are not attempting to make any money. In fact, I'm happy to lose money if that's what it takes to produce a very high caliber litter of pups. That is, our goal is simply to produce the best possible pups to be placed in *the best possible homes.*

At the time of the sale of the pup, Chestnut Vale Kennels will furnish purchaser with a five generation pedigree, AKC registration application, medical and immunization records, feeding schedule, and general care instructions. Also, health information about the sire and the dam will be available upon request.
Note that the pups will be available after reaching the age of seven weeks. A $100. deposit is required to hold a pup. The deposit is non-refundable. However, if we do not produce a puppy for you, which is the sex of the your choice, the deposit will be refunded. We do not guarantee a certain color or particular markings unless it has been specifically agreed to, in writing at the time of the deposit. Please see the Puppy Agreement on our web site for more information.
