Tristan is a two year old, lemon and white, male, English Pointer. He came to OnPoint Rescue in St. Louis, Missouri, from a shelter in Indiana, where he was picked up as a stray.

Tristan has a great outgoing personality and is FULL of energy (he is not the dog for a family of couch potatoes) . Since Tristan has energy to burn he would be best suited with a family that can give him a job. He would make a good hunting companion as he loves to find and point birds or maybe a jogging partner to run with in the mornings.

Tristan knows a few basic commands (sit, lay down, no, and come). We have also been working on his leash manners (he used to pull your arm out of socket) and he is doing great with trying to stay at your side while walking. He is a good dog in the house but can get a little excited, he loves toys and will entertain himself by throwing his rope in the air and catching it. Tristan would not be a good choice for a family with little children as he is such a goofball and doesn't realize his own strength when playing. Even though he has a lot of energy, he still knows how to cuddle on the couch and loves to put his paws around your waist as if he is giving you a big HUG!!!

Tristan does great with other dogs and is curious about cats (he gives chase but does not harm them). He is also crate trained and house broken. Tristan is current on his vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, and on preventative.
