Started Chesapeake Bay Retriever (neutered). He has been trained as a retriever - he has been through UKC Hunt Tests and has his Started title. I just found out I will need surgery and my hunting days may be over. I won't be able to do much for at least 3 months and don't want the dog to just set -- he is a good dog.

The previous owner said: "He does well with obedience for me. He is steady to shot and will do doubles. I've begun drills for blind work, I had started e-collar training with him, but stopped short of finishing it due to time constraints. He's crazy for birds (which is why we kept him out of the litter). Has been housebroken, but it's been awhile since he was in the house as he normally is outside in the kennel. He was crate trained as a pup and we've never really had too many problems with him in the house. He will run all day and is great about bringing the bird, bumper, ball, or whatever back to you. "

I want him to go to someone who hunts and will appreciate a true hunting partner. My first retriever was a Chessie and was the best dog I have ever owned.
