Pictured is 'Chip' - an amazing started gun dog for sale (he points a lot better for wild game - here he is on one of my meat chickens!). He is 5 years old and intact and would make an excellent guide or stud dog. He is registered with American field, whelped 6/15/2006. Parents are: Shotgun Starbuck & Hardtimes Elhew Pepper. Grandparents are: CH Elhew Snakefoot, Hanna's Elhew Lou, CH Elhew Cassidy, Yellow Rose Smitty. Chip was run in American field trails as a pup and had two first place puppy finishes and one second place derby finish. He was used primarily for hunting in addition to being our family pet. At six months of age he hunted pheasant in North Dakota for one week. He is periodically hunted for pheasant in Northern Wisconsin. He has been exposed to, pointed, and retrieved quail, chukar, and pheasant in game farm/training situations. Chip is a natural retriever - he is probably better than our labrador if you can believe that! He does well with older children - will swim and retrieve toys for hours if he could.

We are looking to sell Chip as we are a young family currently expecting our second child and Chip has not been hunted over for a year now. He is all about birds and it breaks my heart that we haven't had the time to take him out hunting that he was bred to do. He is fully housebroken and would love a people or dog bed to snuggle in.
