Elk Run Kennels has been dedicated to breeding superior Braque du Bourbonnais since 1991, longer than any other kennel in North America. The Braque du Bourbonnais is a truly versatile hunting companion, described as “easy to live with talent in a small package.”

Elk Run has bred or owned five of the eight Bourbonnais that have successfully passed North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association’s Utility Test, including the first Utility and the first Prize I Utility Bourbonnais in North America.

Although these French pointers are rare in North America, our goals at Elk Run are simply to breed hunting companions that are equal to or better than the best while retaining the Bourbonnais’s noted calm, gentle disposition. Therefore, Elk Run only breeds sires and dams imported from the top producing kennels in France. All sires and dams are NAVHDA hunt test qualified and only from dogs with x-rayed hips.

Elk Run Braque du Bourbonnais are bred to hunt by a hunter. Both liver and fawn colored puppies currently available. Sire - Sherriff des Bois de la Mariniere NA Prize I. Dam - Patou du Pech du Cayrol, NA Prize II, UT Prize II.
