Griz is a record setting dog in the APLA by becoming the first 4X GMPR at less than 2 years of age. Griz also went 5/5 in AKC senior 1 year of age! Nate also ran Griz in his and my first shoot to retrieve event and finished a very respectable third. This finish was over 28 traditional pointing breed dogs in the pointing division. Griz is one of those special dogs that has a huge motor in the field, but is very controllable and wants nothing more than to be a team player. The Dam Kay is one impressive animal who has been training here at Northstar first for her CPR then her APR and now her GMPR !!! This little choco girl really has all the talent to be a fantastic hunt test dog but she is more than proven as a hunting dog already. She hunts hard and has a very good nose and staunch point! As a retriever she is really coming into her own. She can flat out mark and has plenty of go to go pick it up and come flying back. She runs very nice blinds and has very good manners. These pups will be incredible athletes with a great desire to do whatever you want them to. We have trained a few from the first pairing and love what we see !
