The sire, Watermarks Flying Cloud MH (aka “Clipper”), is a local hunting celebrity, bred and trained by Watermark Retrievers here in the Houston area. Clipper has already earned his Master Hunter in 2016. His eye-catching looks are what first attracted us to breed to this big chocolate lab!

The dam, Sierra Downs Beyla, hails from a long line of highly skilled and talented hunters, including 2x NAFC FC Candlewoods Ramblin Man (2011 Hall of Fame), 2xNAFC 2xCNAFC FC CFC Ebonstar Lean Mac, and CNFC-CNAFC Waldorf’s High Tech. Beyla has been our own personal household companion and hiking partner her entire life and has proven that she can excel living in an apartment, house, or even on the ranch. Her loyalty, trainability and intelligence breed true in her offspring, as evidenced by her own Sierra Downs Freyja (now almost a year old). Freyja has exhibited very few typical puppy anxieties, and has already been trained for life on the ranch and in the house. Freyja is a well-adaptable dog for any lifestyle, so similar to her mother and what we expect to experience with this next generation of beautiful and sweet black labs.
