We have been involved with the breed since 1976. All of our dogs have been handled, trained and shown by ourselves. We do not employ professional handlers to compete with our dogs. We feel it is very important that we KNOW the dogs personally and their reactions in competition. I have trained and handled dogs to titles in obedience (UD level), hunt tests (SH level), & Best in Show and am an AKC judge in conformation and hunt tests. I am listed in the 1998 book Who’s Who In Dogs by Connie Vanacore. As well I am the editor/author of American Chesapeake Club’s breed book. Our kennel is a foundation kennel. On the breeding side, other breeders for improvement of their own dogs value our dogs since we have rigid requirements for temperament, conformation and hunting instincts. We have bred over 275 AKC titled dogs in all types of venues. In September 2012, our 150th conformation champion titled; in September 2012 our 105th Hunt test dog titled! Pond Hollow dogs have won national recognition awards in field, show and obedience

In 2011, 12 different Pond Hollow dogs completed hunt test titles. 13 titles in fact-7 Master titles; 4 Senior titles 2 Junior titles. One of our males was #1 Derby male in the breed for 2011 too. We firmly believe that the dogs should not only look good but also still retain their retrieving instincts
