Description:

We are looking for a hunting home for Colt vom Coraschatten. Colt is a dark roan male Deutsch Langhaar. He will probably be between 60 and 70lbs as an adult dog. He loves to retrieve and is well socialized with people of all ages and dogs of all sizes.

Colt's mother, Elli, is the most talented dog of any breed that we have ever owned. She likes to run and has a really nice search along with a very intense and stylish point. She is a really quiet and mellow dog in the house but completely switches gears in the field. She also matured very quickly and was easy to train. She was force-broked and steady to wing and shot by a year of age. She earned a NAVHDA Utility Prize I at just 20 months of age. She passed the VGP (German Utility Test) at just 2 years of age. She is a fantastic hunting who has proven to be effective on grouse, woodcock, and waterfowl in Wisconsin, as well as pheasants in South Dakota and pheasants, quail, and rabbits in Nebraska. She has also blood-tracked and recovered multiple deer.

Colt's sire (also named Colt) is a handsome and powerful dog. He is a very friendly and outgoing dog with a great coat and a ton of natural ability. He is a very strong retriever and has loved water since he was old enough to swim. He has also pointed everything he's smelled since he was a pup. Colt Sr. has passed both of his required hunting tests to be certified for breeding in the German system. He is special because he is one of those rare dogs who excelled at grouse hunting immediately. He is very cautious around game and points with a long nose which are 2 qualities that every good grouse dog has. He is also a very cooperative dog that we have really enjoyed hunting with for grouse/woodcock in Wisconsin and pheasants in South Dakota.

More photos of Colt's parents (Elli and Colt) are available on our website. We can also email more photos of the puppy available.
