If you want a super smart puppy that already knows some basic obedience and will be a great companion and excellent bird dog, then look no further. Over the last 17 years, I have developed (with the help of some great friends and other excellent gun dogs) a line of Brittanys that is largely unknown, except for a group of dedicated, tight lipped bird hunters in my area. Nothing against field trials, but I'm not a field trial type, these are hunting dogs that are companions too. So if you want an easy going, easy to train gun dog, I've got a few males you should see. These Brits were pointing the wing at 6 weeks old (see pics).
They are sired from my outstanding 4 yr old male "Patch", who might be the best I've ever had, I can't wait for this year and the years to come. I bagged wild quail with him in Tennessee when he was only 8 months old (pointing and retrieving), and the next fall as a 16 month old, he was holding grouse in Wisconsin! Bird hunters know what that entails, and if you haven't done it...then do yourself and your bird dog a favor and get up North for a week in October...you will have an appreciation for hard to hold birds. The female is a young 1 1/2 year old that really showed a lot of potential in the field last year. She has a calm, yet smart demeaner, she was so easy to train that I just had to have her genetics mixed with Patch.
My training tip for the pups: spend 10 minutes with them in the back yard a couple times a week teaching them basics, and then just hunt!
