Summary:I’ve been trying really hard to train my dog but I just couldn’t. Well not until I stumbled upon the Tri-Tronics Upland Special. After months of trying unsuccessfully, this collar finally answered all my prayers. I should have bought this one long ago. Aside from working well, it is also waterproof and has excellent operating range.

Summary:I’m giving this collar 4 stars just because I got a defective collar but they replaced it with a new one upon my request. Other than that, everything about this collar is AMAZING! I’ve tried other collars before but nothing compares to the Tri-Tronics Upland. It has given everything that I needed and everything that my dogs needed. I own two German Shorthair Pointers and this collar have made our hunting sessions a whole lot better. It helped me keep track of them all the time during hunting. It is also very flexible since I can swiftly switch from low, medium and high setting with no difficult. If I want my dogs to stop chasing after a target, I just simply use the stimulation button. I can also choose between range-point and point-only modes. I really love how flexible this collar is! It’s also good that it is expandable to up to three dogs. I only have 2 dogs so that’s more than enough for us. The batteries also perform well. I would definitely recommend this to hunting dog owners.

Summary:We bought this collar hopeful that it could help us train our dog. But sadly, it didn’t happen. It just wasn’t working consistently. Sometimes our dog can feel the stimulation, sometimes he can’t. I’m really not sure why. I tested it on my arm and I was able to feel the correction so I was more puzzled than ever. Since it wasn’t working all the time, we weren’t able to train our dog as we want to. The unit is now useless and just sitting in the attic.

Substandard quality

Summary:The product works. I was able to train the two dogs I own. But after about 6 months of use, the strap on the collar broke. I guess the unit wasn’t able to withstand the rigorous hunting activities that we have been doing. They should have made this tougher knowing that the collar will be extensively used during hunting. I contacted customer service and they said that they were not liable for this and that it was my fault why the belt/strap got damaged prematurely. I’m very disappointed. I’m disappointed with the product and I’m disappointed with the way they handled my complaint. Don’t buy this product.

Summary:I own a German Shorthair and based on my experience, he can barely feel the shock from the collar. I was hesitant to buy this at first because it was additional cost but I’ve read a lot of good reviews and it would have been nice to train my dog for hunting. But I’m now regretting that decision. I shouldn’t have bought this collar.
