Summary:I have previously used a similar collar to the SportDOG SD-1825. I was just beginning to see the results of training my dog with the system when the remote got lost. I was really frustrated since I have only used it around five times or so. I was thinking how come I lost it when it was just hanging around my neck attached to a lanyard. It is supposed to hold since the product was designed to be attached to a lanyard and hanged. As far as I can remember, I never got in the way of any obstacle that could have nicked the remote away. I was just walking on an open pathway. No obstructions or whatsoever. So I called up SportDOG to inquire about the mishap and I was told that the collar was already discontinued. So I was left with the option of buying a new remote that is compatible with the collar. That would have been fine but the new remote has lower range than what I had before – 400 yards versus ¾ of a mile. I tried to haggle a bit requesting if I can get a new set with longer range at a discounted price. But they firmly said no. They didn’t even let me explain saying that was actually my own fault that the remote got lost in the first place. I was really surprised by their remark. I take good care of my things and I don’t normally lose them. I stand by my claim that I lost the remote because the design they made was too weak to hold it. This was such a bad experience. I will not be purchasing from them again.
