Accurate and versatile

Summary:I actually bought Garmin Alpha GPS product upon the recommendation of a good friend of mine. We had the same problem with our dogs. Our dogs both loved to run around and play. My wife and I live in a large property so our dog actually has a lot of areas to roam around in. We really don’t mind him going around since we want him to play and have fun. We just wanted to keep track of his whereabouts. We chose this collar because it has good operating range. It is also versatile. You can also use it to teach the boundaries to your dog but I’m still learning that part. The GPS tracker is very accurate. I’ve been using this for a few months now and so far everything is doing great.

Pros:Range, Best Tracker, Great Product

Good but broke earlier than expected

Summary:Garmin and Tri-Tronics is generally a good product. It does everything that the package says. You can easily keep track of your dog’s location and you can easily set an alarm through the handheld. The GPS feature is quite amazing. I normally use it when we go out. My dog usually runs around and it’s really nice to constantly be in control of her. Just be sure that you are handling gadget carefully. You should follow the instructions well – operate it and charge it as instructed. I just wish it lasted longer than it did for me. I just had it for a little over a year when it finally broke. If it had lasted much longer, I would have given it five stars.

Summary:When my dog finally reached the interstate - that was my wake up call. I immediately bought Garmin and Tri-Tronics collar and trained him to stay within the boundaries. You can easily set an alarm whenever your dog reaches a certain boundary. My dog quickly learned this. I regularly let him out so that he can have the freedom he needs but he still stays within the vicinity of our property. He occasional goes farther than usual but I really don’t mind because I can easily track his location any time I want. I knocking of a single star because the GPS suddenly loses reception if he goes into our tool shed. It’s just a minor glitch. Overall this collar is excellent.

Good first collar

Summary:This is the first time that I’ve actually used a dog collar. I previously thought it was such a waste of your money. But when my dog got lost in the woods one day, I decided I really had to buy a collar or I may not see my dog again. Good thing a kind passerby took care of my dog until we finally found him. Garmin and Tri-Tronics collar has given me the calmness I needed whenever my dog is out playing. I’m very impressed with its GPS feature. It is very easy to use and very accurate. I just wished they placed a better screen on this model. There are times when I use it when the sun is high when I could hardly see the display on the screen. The glare on it is too much for my eyes. I hope they’d do something about this.

Inferior product quality

Summary: Don’t buy Garmin and Tri-Tronics product if you are looking for a collar of good quality and something that would last as long as your money’s worth. I bought this product for tracking and I was only able to use it for 2 months. Even before it reached its “end”, it was already showing signs of early breakdown. It was frequently shutting down on its own especially when my dog is moving too much. You would expect that to a dog so they should have thought of that when they made the collar. When it finally broke, it wouldn’t turn on entirely. All I saw was a black screen and no other activity on the handheld. I haven’t even used it outside our property. I haven’t even dropped it! Not even once! So what’s wrong with this product?! I would never buy this product again. And of course, I’m not recommending this.
