Summary:This product is very sensitive to interference. The first time I installed it, one side of it was not working. I tried to figure out what’s wrong and the only thing I could think of was that it was near our neighbor’s electric fence which could be interfering with the signal. I tried to reinstall it by making it farther from my neighbor’s lot and I ended up with a very small area. I wish they have thought of this during the design of this product. I was expecting more from this product given the good reviews. But just because it was sensitive to interference, I couldn’t get the most out of it. This is an area for improvement that Sportdog should seriously consider. I hope they fix this issue.

My dog outran the system

Summary:We picked this product after a lot of reading through various websites. The SD-100 had a lot of good reviews and we were impressed on what we were reading. It seemed like this was the perfect solution to our pressing problem with our dog. We have a very stubborn dog who loves to run around and chase after anything that runs. We often get worried that he’d get hit by a car or snap his neck trying to run after a deer or a bunny or whatever creature that gets his attention. Everything was doing great on the first 2 weeks. On the 3rd week, I’m not really sure what actually happened, but our dog figured out that if would run fast enough, he could cross the boundary without being shocked. He’s such an intelligent dog. I’m happy with the fact that he’s smart but I’m very disappointed that he was able to figure this one out. Now, the system is just a total waste. It’s not working for my dog anymore. Oh well, that’s money down the drain for me. I guess I just have to look for another product.
