Amazing System

Summary:Before actually buying this product, I did a lot of reading and research first. I wanted something that would fit my requirements. It took me quite a while to finally go for the Sportdog SDF-100A. I knew it was the best system for my needs. We live in a 1 acre span of land and the system was just the right fit. Installation was very easy and the gadgets were of good quality. I’ve been using it for 2 months already with my black Lab. Training was also quick and easy. After only a few days, my dog understood what the boundary flags meant. There are a lot of options you can choose from such as the vibration mode, the beep and the mild shock feature. Currently, all my dog needs is the vibration and that’s enough for her to back down. It’s quite an expensive system but it’s worth it.

Regret not buying this sooner

Summary:I have a very stubborn and hyperactive dog. I tried to use an electronic collar on him but it didn’t work. We have a huge land area so it was very difficult to keep track of him. He would usually run around and chase after other dogs and other animals. He was also fond of chasing other people and even cars. It was such a nightmare. I had to cover a lot of ground so I finally decided to buy this product. That did the trick. The results were very impressive. On the first day of training, my dog tried to go across the boundary and got the shock. After that, he never tried crossing the “border” again. That’s how well it works. I couldn’t believe it at first. This has made my life so much better. I’m very happy that I bought this product.

Great for stubborn dogs

Summary:To be honest, the major reason we bought this collar is because of the good reviews we’ve read. We were really hoping that all that they are saying are true since we were in desperate need of something that could help us stop our dog from his habit of running around A LOT. We’ve never used anything like this before so we were in for a surprise. Good thing it was a good surprise. We were able to teach our dog to stay within the limits as indicated by the flags. And we did it in just a day of training. My husband took our dog out and showed her the flags. I think she got shocked 1 or 2 times and that was enough for her. She now stays clear of the flags which meant that she stayed within our set limits. We are very happy with this product. We should have gotten this sooner. I will still use this on our future dogs. We highly recommend this product.

Great bargain

Summary:We have a very active dog and we originally planned to have her trained by a professional. But when we found out how much a professional training would cost, we decided to forego this and to try other methods. We decided to try the SDF-100A. It was a risk and it paid off really well. We have been using this for around 10 weeks now and everything has been perfect. The instructions are very precise. We had no problems with installation. The instructions for training were also very clear. After just a few days of training, we already saw promising results. They said it would take about 2 weeks to train your dog but all it took for us is about 3 days. Amazing! I give this product two thumb up. It is very effective and it looks tough. I hope it would last long enough for us to use it on other dogs.

Not enough wire

Summary:In terms of performance, I have no complaints about this product. It is very effective and it is very easy to use. All you need to know on how to install and how to actually use this product is in the instructions manual. It works great even with very stubborn dogs. I used this on my very hard-headed black lab and it worked on him. Based on performance, this product aced it. However, don’t be fooled by the 1 acre system statement. If you own an acre of land, you will have to buy more wire just to cover the entire lot. They should have explicitly showed this information which is very important. I had to make 2 trips just to buy more wire. I could have bought the wire together with the whole system.
