Massachusetts Bill Gives Sportsmen Extra Day In The Field

A proposal before the Massachusetts legislature would allow Sunday hunting statewide.

House Bill 4517, sponsored by Rep. Anne Gobi, D-Spencer, would repeal the state’s Sunday hunting prohibition. The bill was introduced on Nov. 17 and awaits action in the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security.

United States Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) Senior Vice President Rick Story appeared on “Paula Zahn NOW” to promote the Families Afield Program, which will aid in the recruitment of new hunters to the sport. The program was launched by the USSA, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) after research showed that age restrictions on hunting result in fewer hunters in the field.
