Smith & Wesson to Trade on NASDAQ

Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. announced today that its common stock has been approved for listing on the NASDAQ Global Select Market, where it will begin trading on July 20 under the ticker symbol SWHC. Until then, the stock will continue to trade on the American Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SWB.

New Five-Star Range

Lauhorner Indoor Arms & Archery Center of Springfield, Ohio, is the fourteenth and latest shooting facility to earn the National Association of Shooting Ranges (NASR) Five Star Rating, the organization’s highest grade. To meet the criteria of a five-star facility, a range must demonstrate excellence in all aspects of management and operations. Ranges are rated on appearance, management, customer service, amenities, customer development and community relations. NASR is the shooting range division of NSSF.

SCTP Skeet and Sporting Clays Nationals

NSSF's widely successful Scholastic Clay Target Program will hold its national skeet and sporting clays championships this weekend at Rochester Brooks Trap and Skeet Club in Rush, N.Y. SCTP now includes more than 8,000 youths from nearly 40 states.

House Votes to Overturn Safety Lock Measure

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to overturn a recently enacted law requiring safety locks to be distributed with all handguns sold in the U.S., Reuters reports. The provision was included in the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, signed last year by President Bush. The amendment to overturn the requirement was attached to a law enforcement spending bill, which has yet to be considered by the Senate.

Health Insurance for NSSF Members

Starting this month, NSSF members can take advantage of group rates by obtaining health insurance through NSSF. Insurance packages tailored to individual member companies' needs are now available at special rates through an affinity program with Burr & Co. Insurance, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based broker.
