How to Program the SportDOG SD-1825 Remote Transmitter

Reminder: Out of the box, your unit is adjusted to Mode 1.  You can then alter the mode of the Remote Transmitter according to your training preferences.

How to Adjust the Mode:

1.   Select a Mode that you want from the following table and set the Intensity Dial and Toggle Switch accordingly.

2.   If the belt clip is attached to the RemoteTransmitter, turn it over and remove the belt clip.

3.   Look for the Mode button and depress it using your pen or the tine which you can find in the buckle of the strap of your collar. You will notice that the Indicator Light will turn solid in color. Once you release the button, the light will flash according to the Mode you chose.

To illustrate, let’s suppose you want to use Mode 5. Set the Intensity Dial to level 5. When you press the Mode button, the Indicator Light will be solid. It will then flash 5 times upon release of the Mode button. However, the light will remain solid even if you release the Mode button if you chose mode 8 (ID Code) in the UP position or  Mode 2 in the DOWN position.

Mode 7: HOW TO PROGRAM THE SD-1825 FOR 2-DOG OPERATION

For the SportDOGTMCollar Receiver, you have to option to operate it either when the toggle switch is positioned up or down. In order to operate in the two-dog mode, you will have to buy a SportDOG Add-A-Dog® Collar Receiver for this unit.

If your transmitter is set in the toggle UP position, program it to mode 1, 4, 5 or 7. If your Remote Transmitter is set in the toggle DOWN position, set it to mode 1, 2, 3, 6 or 7.

To start programming the first Collar Receiver, set the toggle switch to the UP position.

A.  Make sure that the Collar Receiver is switched OFF.

B.  Continuously push the On/Off Button until the Indicator Light switches off after around four to five seconds. Be careful not to release the button too early. This will cause the Indicator light to flash as normal. You will have to go back to step A again if this happens.

C.  Stop pressing the On/Off Button once the Indicator Light has gone off.

D.  Push the Upper Button on the Remote Transmitter and continue pressing until you notice the Indicator Light in the receiver is flashing five times.

***For the second Collar Receiver, follow the same procedure from A to D. This time however, set the toggle switch in the DOWN position.***

Mode 3: HOW TO PROGRAM THE SD-1825 FOR 3- 6-DOG OPERATION

In order to train multiple dogs, you will have to buy a SportDOG Add-A-Dog® Collar Receiver for this unit.

3-Dog Operation

1.   Set the toggle switch in the DOWN position and adjust the Remote Transmitter to mode 5.

2.   After this, flick the toggle switch to the orange/UP position.

3.   To program the first collar, follow these steps:

      A.  Make sure that the Collar Receiver is switchedoff.

To make sure that this happens, place the 2 units close to each other, say around 2-3 feet apart. You will have to redo all the steps beginning from step A if you do not observe 5 flashes from the Indicator Light of the Receiver.

4.   For the second Collar Receiver, follow the same procedure from A to D. This time however, use the Lower Button instead of the Upper Button.

5.   For the third Collar Receiver, follow the same procedure from A to D. This time however, use the Side Button instead of the Lower Button.

 6-Dog Operation

Set the toggle switch in the UP position and adjust the Remote Transmitter to mode 3. To program your unit to a 6-dog operation, flip the toggle switch in the UP position and follow steps 3, 4 and 5 for dogs 1, 2 and 3; for dogs 4, 5 and 6, also do steps 3, 4 and 5 but this time, flip the toggle switch in the DOWN position.

***The identity of the signal between the RemoteTransmitter and Collar Receiver is the ID Code. The factory assigns 1 of 4,000 available codes to each unit. If in case your Remote Transmitter is able to connect with more than one Collar Receiver, you can simply alter the ID Code ofthe Remote Transmitter to correct this issue. This rarely happens though. If it does, you can choose from 64 programmable ID codes.
