Youth Shooting Program on the Rise

Overall participation is rising faster than a low-house target over station eight. NSSF's Scholastic Clay Target Program, which next week will complete its sixth season by crowning national trap champions, continues to enjoy incredible growth. Combining trap, skeet and sporting clays shooters, SCTP's national roster has grown from 3,800 students in 2004, to 5,700 in 2005, to more than 8,200 in 2006. NSSF senior vice president Chris Dolnack says the ceiling is still nowhere in sight: "SCTP is still ramping-up to meet the demand we envision for this program in the years to come."
