The United States Senate barely dealt with filibustering on nominees for the federal bench before a vacancy opened up on the Supreme Court and members will have to approve a replacement. Yet, in the coming days, the Senate is also expected to take up another politically contentious issue -- approving a new law to prevent predatory lawsuits brought for the purpose of bankrupting lawful businesses just because they lawfully make or sell firearms. Your involvement is critical, as a number of Senators still remain to be persuaded that they should be protecting responsible American companies and the jobs of their employees. Even if you've already contacted your representatives in the House and Senate, it's time to remind them that you expect passage of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms bill. Now's a good time to do that, as lawmakers are in their home districts, for the most part, attending events related to July Fourth.
