Women Take NCAA Rifle Titles

Jamie Beyerle, a senior at University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and Kristina Fehlings, a University of Nebraska junior, won the 2006 NCAA Smallbore and Air Rifle championships, respectively, at the national collegiate championships held on March 10-11 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Beyerle added the Smallbore championship to the Air Rifle title she won as a freshman, and she finished second in that event behind Fehlings this year. The University of Alaska-Fairbanks took the team title for the seventh time. This year’s match featured electronic scoring and video screens, providing immediate results and close-ups of the location of each shot to participants and spectators.
