Wisconsin Offers Novices Deer Hunting Workshops





The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be offering “Learn to Hunt Deer” workshops this fall at its Sandhill Outdoor Skills Center in Babcock, Wis. Programs have been structured for adults on Saturday, September 23, and for young people 12-15 years of age on several dates in August. Each of the one-day workshops covers deer biology and management, instruction on compasses, scouting for sign, firearm safety, hunt rules and regulations and hunter ethics. Workshop participants are allowed to return for a special hunt at the Sandhill Wildlife Management Area on November 4 and 5. Applications for the workshop are available at DNR service centers and on the DNR Web site.
