Wildlife Group Takes Aim at Eco-Terrorists

A leading national outdoor sportsmen’s association is launching a nationwide campaign to combat the illegal activities of some animal rights and environmental groups that the FBI labels as major domestic terrorism organizations. The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA), formerly the Wildlife Legislative Fund of America, has drafted model legislation that it hopes to enact in state legislatures across the country that will recognize and penalize the extreme activities of some of the more radical underground groups like the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), and the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). According to USSA, these and other like-minded organizations have been responsible over the years for millions of dollars in damages from a growing number of criminal acts that have “endangered lives, set back life-saving medical research, and struck fear into the hearts of countless researchers, business people, farmers, sportsmen and more.” “Sportsmen know all too well the power and dangers of extreme animal rights groups,” said Rick Story, USSA vice president. “We believe many others will understand these threats and support our efforts to fight them,” Story said. More information on the USSA and its efforts can be found at www.ussportsmen.org, or calling 614-888-4868.
