Where The Girls Are Female participation in NSSF's Scholastic Clay Target Program jumped 84 percent this year. More than 700 young women elementary- through high-school age competed in the program in 2005, a leap from last year's 382. Overall, the program enjoyed its most successful year by far, growing by approximately 50 percent to include more than 6,300 total participants—over 2,000 more than the previous year. Now in its fifth year, SCTP allows youths nationwide to compete as a team for state and national championships in trap, skeet and sporting clays.
