Utah Youth Hunting Bills Advance

Two Utah bills that would allow youths to hunt with their parents at a younger age were passed out of the House Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment Committee on Tuesday, reports the Deseret Morning News. HB 328 would remove all age limits for hunting small game. HB 329 would lower the age youths can hunt big game to 12 from the current age requirement of 14. Both bills would require youths to hunt with an adult. Utah has some of the country's most restrictive laws prohibiting young hunters, according to the Families Afield report produced by NSSF, National Wild Turkey Federation and U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance.
