USSA Announces Three Employee Moves

(Columbus, OH) - The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) announces three staff changes at its National Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Senior Vice President, Rick Story, 56, has announced his retirement after 28 years of service. He was USSA’s longest-serving executive. As Senior Vice-President, he focused on fundraising and communications projects.

Story plans on remaining in his long-time home of Pickerington, Ohio. He has no immediate plans, other than to catch up on plenty of hunting and fishing and spending time with his wife of 33 years, Becky, his daughters and grandchildren. He says he plans to keep his eyes open to opportunities to be of service to sportsmen, the conservation community, and the outdoor sporting goods industry.

Evan Heusinkveld has been promoted to Director of State Services. State Services is a division within USSA’s Government Affairs department which oversees all state legislative issues. His duties include facilitating all state legislative efforts across the U.S., coordinating programs with all 50 state wildlife agencies, and overseeing all fundraising programs within Ohio.

Heusinkveld, a Minnesota native, has been with the USSA since 2007. He is a graduate of Ohio University’s political science program and gained practical political experience working in the Ohio House of Representative and the U.S. Senate. Before coming to the USSA, Heusinkveld was a Senior Legislative Aide to an Ohio House member. He currently resides in Westerville, Ohio.

Jeremy Rine has been hired as Associate Director of State Services. He will be helping to develop strategies, analyze legislation, and coordinate campaigns for sportsmen-related legislative issues nationwide.

Rine is a graduate of the Ohio State University and Capital Law School. He passed his Ohio Bar exam in July 2008 and is currently employed at the law firm of Weltman Weinberg & Reis in Columbus. Previously, he served as an intern with USSA, both in Government Affairs as well as in the Marketing Department.
