Survey: First Shots Creating New Shooters, Customers





A new survey of people who have attended a First Shots event at their local range shows 48 percent have returned to the range an average of five times in the last six months. Through First Shots, NSSF partners with ranges to introduce area residents to handgun shooting. Other findings from the survey: 50 percent of First Shots attendees have met their local requirements to own/purchase handgun, 25 percent have taken a training course since attending First Shots and 32 percent have purchased an average of $430 worth of equipment since attending. Ranges like Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center have partnered with NSSF to host multiple First Shots events over the past year, including one this past weekend in Springfield, Mass.
