Sportsmen's Caucus Denied

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has vetoed a bill that would have allowed state legislators to create a sportsmen’s caucus similar to those found in 28 other states. Backers said the bill would have allowed lawmakers to promote their love of hunting and fishing. Sanford argued the bill could have opened the door to corruption via gifts and contributions to political caucuses. Lawmakers may act to override the veto.
