Sixteen-Year-Old Sets National Air Rifle Record Nobody wants to have her record-setting performance erased from the annals, unless, of course, she is beating her own mark. That is exactly what happened at the 2006 edition of the Daisy Air Rifle Championship when 16-year-old Michaela Jochum from Beatrice, Neb., shattered her own 20-shot standing record of 185 with an incredible sporter score of 192. She finished the day with a 573 three-position total score to eclipse her old open record of 571, taking individual honors and leading her Homestead 4-H Club to victory in the sporter class team championship.
