Saskatchewan Proposes Requiring Licensed Outfitters For All Wingshooting

The Saskatchewan Outfitters Association has proposed that all nonresident bird hunters, including waterfowlers, be required to use a licensed outfitter. The group contends that illegal outfitting is occurring by nonresidents and that nonresidents are leasing lands for hunting, precluding residents from using them. The idea, if approved by Saskatchewan authorities, would take effect in 2007 and would not allow any nonresidents to hunt birds on their own.
