Pitstol, Rifle Championships Begin at Camp Perry The 86th edition of the National Matches officially begins today at 5:30 p.m. at the Ohio National Guard facility at Camp Perry, Ohio. The chief of the National Guard Bureau Lt. Gen. H. Steven Blum will serve as the guest of honor and “first shot speaker.” The pistol and rifle matches, which were sanctioned by legislation enacted by Congress and President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903, will conclude in mid-August.
